Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has a long history of providing an outdoor recreation experience while preserving the natural beauty of the mountain. This includes natural resource protection effects to conserve and protect the natural resources here. Our ideal proximity to Reno & North Lake Tahoe, combined with excellent terrain and snow conditions, brings together a unique blend of individuals giving Mt. Rose a genuine local vibe and an always-welcoming spirit. From some of the best beginner terrain in the area to the thrill of the world-renowned Chutes, Mt. Rose offers something for every level of skier & snowboarder. We pride ourselves on our kid’s lesson programs highlighted by local instructors who truly enjoy sharing their love of the slopes with kids new to the sport. We are committed to sustainable practices across our operations and have pledged to continue to improve and incorporate sustainability into all aspects of our business.
Why we're Green
Many of our standard business practices adhered to the NV Green Business qualifications before the certification process, but going through this process has helped us implement additional sustainability initiatives. We adopted a sustainable purchasing policy that prioritizes local and environmentally conscious products and vendors whenever possible. One challenge we still face is limited overall recycling infrastructure, but we are working around this by 1. Opting to purchase recycled materials when possible, to encourage product/material circularity, and 2. By reducing the waste we generate.
